    Tui na-yin&yangGua Sha
    Gua Sha scraping sha-bruises, is a traditional Chinese medical treatment in which the skin is scraped using smooth tool to stimulate blood flow and healing. Gua shais sometimes referred to as “spooning” or “coining”.

    Gua sha translates directly from Chinese as, “to scrape away fever.” Traditional Chinese Medicine has long believed illnesses such as colds get trapped on the exterior of our bodies where they meet the “troops” of our immune system.

     

    Moxibustion (moxa)
    Moxibustion is a form of heat therapy in which dried plant materials called “moxa”  heat individual acupuncture points or regions of the body by burning near the surface of the skin or inserted needle. The intention is to warm and invigorate the flow of ‘Qi’ in the body and dispel certain pathogenic influences.

    The heat is able to penetrate deeply into the muscles and essentially strengthens the actions of the needles. By drawing more Qi and Blood into the area, Moxa can greatly aid the healing process. Refers to the warming or
    Moxa is usually made from the dried leafy material of Chinese mugwort (Artemesia argyi or A.vlugaris), but it can be made of other substances as well.
    Tui Na
    Tui Na is a hands-on body treatment that uses Chinese the eight principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) fpr body balance. The practitioner may brush, knead, roll/press, and rub the areas between each of the joints, known as the eight gates, to attempt to open the body’s defensive (wei) chi and get the energy moving in the meridians and the muscles. Techniques may be gentle or quite firm. The name comes from two of the actions: tui means “to push” and na means “to lift and squeeze.”
